Cap Gris- and Blanc-Nez: little gems in France

Want to see two impressive chalk cliffs in the north of France? In the heart of the Opal Coast, Cap Gris-Nez and Cap Blanc-Nez are stealing the show.

It’s a beautiful location for a nice walk with Dover in sight on which England suddenly seems very close. You just have to follow the coastal path to walk from one cliff to another and enjoy an amazing view. And yes, the view of the coastline is magnificent. It’s a varying but easy walk –  in the meadows and on the beach, with climbing and descending. So leave your car behind and breathe in the clean fresh air, you will not be disappointed.

The Opal Coast is known for its impressive cliffs, beautiful beaches and idyllic fishing villages. Most beaches and cliffs are easily accessible from a nearby parking lot, where you can park for free. The rugged, wide coast surrounded by lush dunes is a popular backdrop for hikers, and lovers of the Second World War will also appreciate it here.

“Les deux Capes” are real tourist attractions but you should definitely visit them, they are worth it. You’ll enjoy spectacular views from both cliffs. It’s ideal for a weekend getaway or when you’re going on a road trip through France.
